About Us
Occupational Therapy Norfolk was founded in 2010 by Charlotte and Zachary Fox and provides highly specialist Independent Occupational Therapy services primarily in Norfolk, England and the surrounding areas. We have experience in providing services to a range of individuals including privately funding clients, those receiving case management, as well as organisations requiring a range of services such as employee assessments, disability assessment / advice, and training (including brain injury education, support worker training & bespoke manual handling assessment and training).
With a carefully selected team of Associates we have specialist skills in a wide range of fields within the independent sector, and are proud of our excellent reputation particularly in relation to housing/adaptations/equipment, neuro (brain and spinal injury) rehabilitation, amputee rehabilitation, vocational assessments, and improving individuals quality of life and engagement in meaningful activities – with clients young and old. We also have experience in consulting on service developments and other commercial aspects.
We believe in keeping our core service based locally and tailored to individual needs - so that each client feels valued and receives the best possible input. It’s these qualities along with ensuring the highest quality therapist provision that has helped build and maintain our reputation, whilst allowing us to develop a robust service delivery model - ensuring that we provide consistently high-quality services. Because of this high reputation we are also asked to provide consultation on more complex cases – particularly housing and neuro cases - further afield (where there is appropriate to do so) – and have advised on several high-profile projects in the North of England, London and even abroad.
We work according to our Professional Statement of Standard and Ethics, and Standards of Proficiency and also undertake regular CPD and networking to ensure we continue to strive for excellence and remain experts, in our field.
Occupational Therapy Norfolk is run by Charlotte and Zachary Fox, and draws on over thirty years experience within the fields of Occupational Therapy and Business Management. This combination of skills ensures the best level of service both directly and behind the scenes where our business processes ensure optimal performance.
Charlotte Fox
Charlotte qualified in 2004 with a 2.1 BSc(hons) in Occupational Therapy from the University of East Anglia. She has been practicing independently since 2010 (full-time since April 2014) and has developed high levels of expertise in working in the independent sector. She works across East Anglia but also provides consultancy input further afield (when her specialist housing/adaptation/equipment and neuro skills are sought on more complex cases). Over her varied career to date Charlotte has developed expertise in a wide range of settings and conditions, with key interests in complex neurological conditions (brain and spinal injury particularly) and housing. Her caseload varies from short-term intensive rehabilitation to longer-term support for individuals with catastrophic life changing injuries. She is also a qualified Manual Handling Train-the-Trainer. This breadth of experiences means she, and Occupational Therapy Norfolk’s carefully selected team of associates, are well placed to provide a truly holistic service to clients with complex rehabilitation needs.
Charlotte provides clinical supervision to Occupational Therapy Norfolk’s Associate Occupational Therapists and clinical oversight to the organisation. Previously Charlotte had gained experience in both the NHS (including as a Neurology Specialist OT, and with amputees) and Social Care (as a Housing and Equipment Specialist, Reablement Lead, and Manual Handling Trainer / Deputy Advisor) giving her a robust clinical grounding that was well suited to applying in the independent sector.
Charlotte is a member of the Specialist Sections of Neurological Practice, Work, and Independent Practice as well as the Norfolk & Waveney Acquired Brain Injury Network. She undertakes regular CPD to maintain and further develop her skills. She has developed services locally, nationally and internationally. She is actively involved in the wider aspects of the OT Profession including writing for journals, developing opportunities for student education within the Independent Sector and providing peer support.
